 UCC Choir Camp open to anyone who loves to sing between the ages of 8-16.
You don't have to be a member.  It is a day camp from 9-4 each day.  Contact Kay Asay at
801-756-6450 for more information and to receive the mailout the first week of July.
UCC is currently holding auditions for our next season.  You need to have a little song to sing.
It takes about ten minutes.  This is for children who love to sing between ages 8-16. Contact

Utah Children's Choir Directors

Kay Asay, Artistic Director

Kay Asay founded the Utah Children's Choir in 1984, and is recognized throughout the country for her excellent work with children's choirs.  She received her B.A. and M.A. from Adams State College in Colorado.  Miss Asay studied under Dr. Doreen Rao in the Choral Music Education Institute, receiving the Artist/Teacher diploma in London, England.  She also studied at the Intermuse Academy at BYU and received Kodaly certification.   She served for thirteen years as the Utah State Children's Choir Chair for the American Choral Directors Association.  Miss Asay has been guest clinician and conductor at local festivals.  She has been nominated in "Who's Who among American Teachers" four different times.  Miss Asay also teaches flute and maintains her studio in her home in Alpine, Ut.

 

Lutie Larsen, Business Manager

Lutie Larsen served as a parent volunteer in the choir for many, many years.  Most of her ten children have sung in the UCC and some of her grandchildren.  In 2001 Lutie became the Business Manager for the choir.  Her artistic work on the covers of the programs have been respected and admired each season.  Lutie runs her own business and has used these skills to keep good track of the UCC accounts.  She has designed the posters for publicity on each event and is a talented photographer.

 

Marilyn Rudolph, Vocal Coach 

Marilyn Rudolph has been the vocal coach for the Utah Children's Choir since 1991.  As a performer, she has participated extensively in choral singing and as a soloist in recital, oratorio and opera.  Mrs. Rudolph has worked for many years with hundreds of students both at BYU and throughout Utah Valley in her own studio.  She received her Kodaly certification from the Intermuse Academy at BYU.  She has a special interest in quality experience with the fine arts for young people, and believes that music and singing skills learned young can enhance a lifetime.

 

Heidi Rodeback, Accompanist

Heidi Rodeback is a frequent accompanist and ensemble artist on the Utah Valley musical scene.  Recent choral engagements include the Utah Children's Choir and the Timpanogos Chorale.  A performer from an early age, Ms. Rodeback has concertized in Ithaca, New York; Sharon, Pennsylvania, and her native Seattle.  She holds a B.A. from Brigham Young University, where she wrote an honors theses on the work of Modeste Mussorgsky.  Subsequent university study includes the Colby College Piano Institute, where she participated in master classes with Anthony di Bonaventura.
